Meet the LMD team: John Ball – Training Manager

When LMD Vacuum Excavation was established in 2015 by Mick Dysart, Managing Director, John Ball was his first recruit. John worked as a machine operator and his skill and commitment played an important role in LMD developing traction in what was still, at that time, a relatively new and niche activity.

After a spell working for tRIIO on gas distribution contracts, John has rejoined LMD Vacuum Excavation as its dedicated Training Manager. John’s key focus will be the delivery of ‘on the tools’ training to both new and existing employees.

According to Mick Dysart, LMD managing Director, John had a fundamental role to play in both developing skills and reinforcing safety messaging:

‘Not only does LMD have one of the largest vacuum excavation fleets in the UK, it also has the most versatile. John’s experience and his strict approach to ‘getting it right’ will enable us to optimise the flexibility of our fleet as well as allowing our vacuum excavation operators to enhance their own skill levels.’

I’ve worked together with John for over twelve years in one form and another. I’ve no doubt he will be a huge asset for LMD Vacuum Excavation.’
