Road Sweeper Drivers

LMD Vacuum Excavation is one of the leading providers of vacuum excavation services in the UK. Due to the work we undertake on housing projects and highways, and in response to client requests, we have invested in a fleet of road sweepers. We are currently experiencing a strong period of growth and we are therefore looking to recruit experienced sweeper drivers.

These sweeper driver opportunities are full-time positions.  Although a lot of our sweeper work is local to our headquarters in Chesterfield, it may entail working on sites throughout mainland UK.

Role details:

Full-time position operating LMD sweepers on sites across the UK.

Qualifications and requirements:

  • HGV Class 2 driving licence (desirable, not essential)
  • Flexibility and availability to work away from home, night shifts and weekend shifts when required
  • CSCS card (desirable, not essential)
  • Candidates must live within a commutable distance from Chesterfield, Derbyshire
  • Willing to work as part of a team as well as individually

Mobile Fitter/Service Engineer

LMD Vacuum Excavation, is looking for a full-time Mobile Fitter/Service Engineer to join our team.

LMD Vacuum Excavation has one of the largest fleet of vacuum excavators in the UK, with several more on order. Furthermore, our fleet is the most varied and flexible in the country ranging from small tracked units, through the UK’s only urban excavator, to powerful triple fan units and our new 6WD all-terrain vacuum excavator.

As a Mobile Fitter/Service Engineer you will respond to breakdowns and carry out routine maintenance on our fleet. We undertake projects across the UK. It is therefore an essential requirement for this position that you have a current driving licence, are able to travel widely and spend nights away from home as required. From time to time you may need to work weekends or overnight to meet deadlines.

 

You will have a City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent in plant maintenance or mechanical engineering. Experience of maintenance and repair work on construction plant or similar would be highly desirable.

LMD is growing. We have a dynamic team in place and you will play a critical role in maximising the availability of our fleet through effective breakdown repair and maintenance. There is considerable scope for further progression within the company as we continue to grow.

Workshop Supervisor/Foreman

LMD Vacuum Excavation, is looking for a full-time Workshop Supervisor/Foreman to join our team.

LMD Vacuum Excavation has one of the largest fleet of vacuum excavators in the UK, with several more on order. Furthermore, our fleet is the most varied and flexible in the country ranging from small tracked units, through the UK’s only urban excavator, to powerful triple fan units and our new 6WD all-terrain vacuum excavator.

As Workshop Supervisor you will be responsible for organising work through LMD’s busy workshop. You will report directly to Jason Fletcher, Plant Manager.

LMD is growing. We have a dynamic team in place and the Workshop Supervisor/Foreman will play a critical role in maximising the availability of our fleet through the effective management of maintenance and repair activities. There is considerable scope for further progression within the company as we continue to grow.

You will have experience of maintenance and repair work on construction plant or similar. Previous experience is a workshop supervisory role would be beneficial but not essential.

To be effective, you will probably need to live within one hour’s drive of Chesterfield.
