LMD HELPS TO LOCATE AND EXPOSE A WATER MAIN ALONGSIDE OTHER UTILITIES DOWN A 100M+ BANK

LMD Vacuum Excavation were challenged with the exposure of a water main and other utilities down a 100m+ bank.

The bank had a steep gradient that prevented access by any wheeled or heavy, tracked vehicle.

After locating the trial holes, LMD was able to carry out the work using our specially adapted Brokk 1.2 tonne mini robot.

The Brokk 120D accessed the area whilst connected via extension hoses to our Amphitec Suction Excavator, which was 100 metres above site.

The High Tip facility on the Amphitec enabled tipping directly into a dumper skip, therefore allowing the machine to stay in place for the duration of the operation.

Both machines performed brilliantly! It was felt that distances of over 200 metres would be achievable on a gradient and up to 300 metres horizontally for future projects.
